Documentary Final

finally made my onigiri (took long enough) with a little mould I got 
with my mom in L.A. 
with umeboshi plum inside, amazing beefsteak plant seasoning (also L.A.) and toasted 
white sesame. so good.
brown rice next time though. 


then I accidentally downloaded this picture off my phone
It's my favorite spot in Chicago to escape (I do a lot of escaping and shutting in here)
one of two gardens adjacent to the museum, both are so beautiful

I like this one because it's like a shelter- and less people are in it

it's so durable, things feel stronger.


I need the right zipper and then I'm turning it into a pouch

today, rope-probably the last project for my fiber class
but one of my favorites
this one from strips of sheer fabric, plastic bags, copper wire and white threads
it feels powerful
I have a relationship of trust with it that I usually can't establish with things I make


Also I bought a Binchotan charcoal tooth brush
(from Merz Apothecary, maybe my favorite place in Chicago)

Easter bread.

I would have made my own but

Easter isn't the same without my family

The problem with this bread

was that there was no egg in the middle,

and no sprinkles ..

yesterday, ate&saw

worried that I would loose all my hand skin
but this morning they feel normal again
and strong arms

off the loom. a little gnarly
although, to be fair,
it was born out of a gnarly skein of sock wool
that I dropped while I was winding it into a ball
and could never untangle.

but I could pull it apart in sections for weaving
so it wasn't all lost, as I had feared

also some old silk from another lost project, it always
makes an appearance .

missing animal comfort
I can tell because every time I pass by a cat
I have to stop for 15 minutes and interact
even if it's in a window

also sneakers and furry jacket (from sasha years ago- still wear it all the time!)

I'll stay weaving at my loom
be no trouble to my groom
if he'll keep the piles of money mounting
